Spotify’s Fresh Finds Forward will offer 12 months of tools, studio access and support to about 10,000 emerging independent artists yearly.

Spotify is expanding its support system for emerging independent musicians with Fresh Finds Forward, a new program designed to reach roughly 10,000 artists each year. The initiative adds practical resources to the discovery function already served by Spotify’s long-running Fresh Finds playlists.

Who can join Fresh Finds Forward

Artists added to a Fresh Finds playlist from Jan. 1, 2026 onward are eligible to enroll through Spotify for Artists. Once accepted, participants receive access to the program for 12 months. The company says the offer is intended to help musicians convert an early burst of streaming attention into a more sustainable next stage.

The package includes early access to selected Spotify tools and features, industry programming, community support, and priority consideration for certain tour or music-video partnerships. Participants can also receive premium access to digital music services including LANDR and Splice.

Some benefits vary by location. Free studio time is available to U.S.-based participants at facilities that include New York’s Electric Lady Studios. The program also includes mental-health resources, with six months of therapy through BetterHelp among the support described at launch.

Building on a decade of artist discovery

Fresh Finds began as a playlist-centered discovery effort before Spotify added campaigns and educational tools for independent acts. The company says the broader platform has helped more than 80,000 artists across 127 countries reach new listeners over the past decade.

Its alumni list includes performers who later became major names, among them Laufey, Clairo, Doechii, Ice Spice, Megan Moroney and Omar Apollo. That track record gives Fresh Finds Forward a recognizable pipeline, but the new version is more ambitious because it pairs playlist exposure with access to studios, software and professional support.

For independent artists, the most meaningful test will be how evenly those resources are distributed and whether the program creates durable opportunities beyond a playlist placement. At launch, however, Fresh Finds Forward represents a significant expansion of Spotify’s artist-development strategy and a clearly defined route for eligible musicians to opt in.
