Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is backing Kenan’s Law, a petition seeking stronger platform reviews of repeated online harassment reports.

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is asking followers to support a petition she calls Kenan’s Law, an initiative created after the death of her former partner and co-parent, Ken Urker.

In messages shared Sunday, Blanchard said the proposal would push social platforms to respond differently when users repeatedly report targeted harassment. Her argument is that a single post may look harmless in isolation, while a sustained stream of videos, comments and posts can reveal a pattern that deserves a broader review.

A campaign focused on repeated reports

Blanchard said she and Urker had reported material on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Reddit before his death, but frequently received responses indicating that the content did not violate platform rules. She framed the petition as an attempt to improve how companies assess cumulative behavior rather than an effort to prevent criticism of public figures.

The campaign is named for Urker, whose first name was Kenan. He was found dead at a home in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 1, according to a statement from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reported by Variety. He was 34. Authorities said the death remained under investigation, and no official cause had been released when the petition was announced.

Blanchard has publicly described the death as a suspected overdose while also saying she would not speculate about whether it was intentional. That distinction matters because the petition connects her grief to the broader issue of online treatment without establishing that harassment caused Urker’s death.

Turning a personal loss into advocacy

Urker appeared with Blanchard on the Lifetime reality series Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up. The former couple share a young daughter, Aurora, and had maintained an on-and-off relationship over several years.

The petition is an advocacy proposal, not an enacted law. Its immediate goal is to build public support for platform rules that consider repeated reports together and provide a more meaningful review when one person becomes the focus of sustained online abuse.

For Blanchard, the appeal marks a shift from mourning in public to asking followers to support a specific policy idea. Whether social-media companies or lawmakers engage with that proposal remains to be seen, but the campaign has already moved the conversation beyond a single celebrity post and toward the systems used to judge online harassment.
