Kim Kardashian Sets Boundaries Around North West’s Fame

Kim Kardashian says she is deliberately slowing the pace of public opportunities offered to her 13-year-old daughter, North West, even as the teenager shows a stronger appetite for the spotlight than her younger siblings.

In a recent interview, Kardashian described North as the child most interested in camera-facing work. Rather than accepting every proposal, she said the family is trying to protect time for North to grow and to choose projects carefully.

North’s music ambitions come with parental approval

Kardashian said music is the area where North is most eager to build a career. She and North’s father, Kanye West, communicate more closely about those plans and aim to agree on the projects their daughter takes on.

That approach does not amount to keeping North out of entertainment. The teenager released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, in May and has already performed her first headlining concert at Chicago’s Vic Theatre. Kardashian attended the show and later celebrated the crowd’s response on social media.

North has also spoken publicly about wanting to begin her career now rather than waiting until adulthood. Her mother’s comments present a balancing act: supporting that ambition while resisting the pressure to turn every offer into another public milestone.

A different rule for each child

Kardashian emphasized that her four children do not all have the same relationship with fame. North is more comfortable in front of cameras, while Saint, Chicago and Psalm may appear around filming without becoming part of continuing storylines.

The distinction is notable for a family whose personal life has been documented on television for years. Kardashian called herself an “intermediate-strict” parent, describing a household that combines limits with familiar routines such as reading with the children at night.

Her latest comments also draw a line between a young person’s genuine creative interest and the machinery surrounding celebrity. North may want forward-facing work, but Kardashian’s stated goal is to make sure the pace remains manageable and that both parents approve the opportunities shaping her early career.
