Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will join Fox News as a contributor, providing political analysis from November 1.
Karoline Leavitt is moving from the White House briefing room to cable news. Fox News has hired the former press secretary as a contributor, with her first day in the new role set for November 1.
The appointment gives Leavitt a formal position at a network where she has appeared before. Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Leavitt’s experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail would inform her political analysis across the company’s platforms.
A familiar route from government to television
Leavitt served as White House press secretary from January 2025 until August 2026. She became the youngest person to hold the job and built a public profile through regular briefings, forceful defenses of President Donald Trump’s agenda and frequent clashes with reporters.
Her move follows a long pattern of former administration officials joining television news. Variety noted that former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also works at Fox, while former White House officials from Democratic and Republican administrations have taken prominent roles at other networks.
Before entering the second Trump administration, Leavitt was national press secretary for his 2024 presidential campaign. Her earlier résumé includes a 2022 congressional campaign in New Hampshire, communications work for Rep. Elise Stefanik and roles in Trump’s first administration.
What her Fox News role will involve
Fox said Leavitt will provide commentary and analysis rather than host a newly announced program. The network has not detailed a fixed schedule, so viewers should expect appearances across multiple shows and platforms instead of a single daily slot.
In a statement carried by both Deadline and Variety, Leavitt said she was grateful to join Fox News officially and planned to bring the same energy and candor associated with her tenure as press secretary. Her hiring places one of the most recognizable recent White House communicators inside the television ecosystem just as political coverage intensifies ahead of the midterm cycle.
The immediate confirmed milestone is November 1. Fox has not yet announced which program will feature her first appearance as a contributor.
