Hayley Williams welcomed Zedd at the Hollywood Bowl for a piano-led performance of “Stay the Night,” their first together in 12 years.

Hayley Williams reunited with Zedd at the Hollywood Bowl on Monday night for their first joint performance of “Stay the Night” in 12 years. The surprise appearance turned an early-2010s dance-pop hit into a stripped-back encore built around piano and Williams’ voice.

A festival-sized song received a quieter arrangement

Zedd joined Williams at the piano rather than recreating the track’s polished electronic production. Fan-recorded footage showed the pair emphasizing the melody and vocal performance, giving the collaboration a different character from the club-oriented recording familiar to listeners.

Williams introduced him to the Los Angeles audience by his first name, Anton, before acknowledging the stage name known to fans. The moment rewarded speculation around the show: promotional material outside the venue had referenced lyrics from “Stay the Night,” signaling that the song might return to her set.

The reunion revisited a major crossover moment

“Stay the Night” arrived during Zedd’s breakthrough period and became one of Williams’ best-known recordings outside Paramore. Billboard reported that it topped both the Dance Club Songs and Dance Airplay charts, while Stereogum noted that it reached No. 18 in the United States and No. 2 in the United Kingdom.

The two artists had not performed it together since a 2014 radio concert in Los Angeles. Its return therefore worked as more than a routine guest spot: it connected Williams’ current solo tour to a pop collaboration that many fans had never had the chance to hear live.

Williams is opening her solo catalog to old collaborations

The Hayley Williams Show tour has increasingly made room for songs associated with earlier phases of her career. At a September concert in New York, she performed “Airplanes” with Rico Nasty, reviving another crossover hit that had long remained outside her regular stage repertoire.

Williams scheduled a second Hollywood Bowl concert for Tuesday before taking the tour to South America in November, followed by Australia and Europe in 2027. Zedd’s appearance has not been announced as a recurring part of those dates, making the Los Angeles reunion a distinct stop-specific moment.

By replacing the original production’s drops with piano, the pair did not simply reproduce a nostalgic single. They reframed it around the durability of its melody—and around the sound of Williams singing it at a different point in her career.
