The Raconteurs joined Jack White for a five-song Nashville encore, marking the band’s first live performance together in nearly seven years.

The Raconteurs turned the final stretch of Jack White’s Nashville concert into a full-band comeback, reuniting onstage for the first time in nearly seven years. The surprise appearance happened during White’s second night at The Truth, the new Nashville venue where his solo show suddenly became a five-song Raconteurs encore.

White was joined by Brendan Benson, bassist Jack Lawrence and drummer Patrick Keeler. Together they opened with the band’s 2006 debut single, “Steady, As She Goes,” before moving through “Hands,” “Level” and “Broken Boy Soldier.” They closed with “Carolina Drama,” the long-form favorite from 2008’s Consolers of the Lonely.

A reunion hiding in plain sight

The appearance was not entirely unannounced. Earlier in the day, White posted a deliberately obvious hint telling Raconteurs fans in the Nashville area that they might want a ticket because the show could include “a little surprise.” The message paid off when the complete four-piece emerged for the encore.

The venue reportedly operated as a no-phones show, making the reunion feel more like a moment for the room than a performance engineered for instant clips. Professional photographs later documented the set, while reports from the night confirmed that the band had not played together since a December 2019 concert in Honolulu.

That gap makes the choice of songs significant. Rather than test unfamiliar material, the group built a compact tour through its catalog, touching both its debut and its second album. The result was less a formal relaunch than a reminder of how naturally White and Benson’s voices and guitars still fit together.

The timing connects to the band’s debut

The reunion arrived as Third Man Records prepares a 20th-anniversary edition of Broken Boy Soldiers. The subscriber package is set to include previously unreleased demos and outtakes as well as a recording of the band’s first concert, linking the Nashville appearance to a broader look back at the Raconteurs’ beginnings.

No new tour or studio album was announced with the performance. That leaves the encore as a self-contained event rather than a promise of a longer campaign. Still, after years apart, hearing all four members move from their breakthrough single to “Carolina Drama” gave fans something more concrete than reunion rumors: a complete Raconteurs set, however brief, on a Nashville stage.
