Selma Blair was arrested after an alleged incident on a Delta flight. Her representative says she experienced a medical emergency.
Selma Blair was arrested after a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York on Sunday, following allegations that she struck one flight attendant and bit another during the trip. Her representative said the actor experienced a medical emergency and was in stable condition after receiving care.
Variety reported that the Port Authority confirmed Blair’s identity after the aircraft arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The outlet said law enforcement met the plane at the gate, Blair was taken into custody and then transported to a hospital for evaluation. Two crew members reported injuries, and one also received hospital care.
What Delta and Blair’s representative said
Delta identified the service as Flight 938 from LAX to JFK. In a statement reported by both Variety and Page Six, the airline said it has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior because passenger and crew safety comes first. Delta added that the episode caused no operational disruption: the flight landed at about 11 p.m. and arrived ahead of schedule.
Blair’s representative said the medical emergency led to the alleged conduct. That statement does not resolve what happened aboard the aircraft, and the specific claims remain allegations. Variety also reported that an investigation was underway, citing a source who said the FBI was involved.
The case remains under review
The reports describe an attempt to open an aircraft door during the flight, followed by the alleged physical encounters with crew members. No charging document or detailed statement from investigators was cited in the two reports reviewed for this article.
Blair, 54, is known for films including Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions and the Hellboy franchise. She has also spoken publicly about living with multiple sclerosis and has become a prominent disability-rights advocate. For now, the confirmed developments are her arrest, medical evaluation and stable condition; any determination of criminal responsibility would come through the investigative and legal process.
