Justice will compose the score for Grand Theft Auto VI and has released “Flower in a Hurricane,” a collaboration with SZA and Tame Impala.
French electronic duo Justice will compose the original score for Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games revealed alongside the game’s launch trailer. The announcement arrived with a new song, “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring SZA, Tame Impala and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard.
The track provides the musical backbone for the new trailer and will also appear on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Both the game and its accompanying 34-song soundtrack are scheduled for Nov. 19, turning the release into a major crossover moment for gaming and popular music.
A major collaboration built for Vice City
“Flower in a Hurricane” blends Justice’s driving electronic production with vocals from SZA and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, plus contributions from King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. The collaboration connects artists from R&B, psychedelic pop, rock and dance music in a single high-profile release.
Justice’s involvement was not entirely hidden before the formal announcement. Pieces of the duo’s music had appeared in earlier promotional material, including an extended preview released in August. The launch trailer now confirms that those cues were part of a broader original score rather than isolated song placements.
The soundtrack expands beyond the score
The official album will sit alongside the duo’s instrumental work and includes a wider group of performers. Reported contributors include Travis Scott, Cardi B, PinkPantheress, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, Keith Richards and Fuerza Regida. That lineup reflects the franchise’s tradition of using radio stations and licensed songs to define its fictional cities.
For Justice, the assignment follows the duo’s 2024 album Hyperdrama and its Grammy-winning Tame Impala collaboration “Neverender.” Scoring one of the entertainment industry’s most anticipated releases gives Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay a much larger narrative canvas than a conventional album cycle.
Rockstar has not yet detailed whether the complete original score will receive a separate release. For now, “Flower in a Hurricane” serves as the clearest preview of how Justice’s dramatic synths and rock textures will shape the sound of the new Vice City.
