Seventeen members Jeonghan and Joshua launch the JxJ duo with Dreamscape, a seven-track mini album led by the song “12 o’clock.”

Seventeen members Jeonghan and Joshua are stepping into a new spotlight as JxJ, launching their first duo project with the mini album Dreamscape. The seven-track release gives the longtime bandmates room to define a sound built around their individual voices rather than the full group’s 13-member scale.

The project is led by “12 o’clock” and also includes “Like You,” “Outside,” “One Plus One” and “No Looking Back.” Each singer receives a solo showcase as well: Joshua takes “Not Personal,” while Jeonghan handles “Coloring.”

A smaller format after a major transition

Dreamscape marks Jeonghan’s first new music since completing South Korea’s mandatory military service during the summer. Variety reports that he sometimes watched Seventeen perform from the audience while he was away, experiencing shows alongside the group’s fans, known as Carats.

Joshua used that period to develop his own songs and send material to the group’s company. Their duo format now brings those separate experiences together, allowing the pair to work with more space while retaining the vocal chemistry they developed over more than a decade in Seventeen.

JxJ builds its own identity

The album’s structure suggests that JxJ is not being treated as a one-song detour. A title track, multiple shared recordings and two solo cuts create a fuller introduction to what each member contributes. The project also arrives with the built-in attention of Seventeen’s global audience, but its success will depend on whether listeners hear a distinct identity beyond the parent group.

Album information published on release day confirms the seven-song sequence and the October 19 launch. The rollout places the title track at the center while using the solo recordings to widen the project’s emotional and stylistic range.

For Jeonghan and Joshua, Dreamscape is both a reunion and an experiment. It reconnects them musically after a period apart, then asks fans to hear two familiar voices in a more intimate frame. Rather than shrinking Seventeen’s formula, JxJ is presenting a separate lane shaped around contrast, balance and the details that can disappear inside a much larger ensemble.
