Suki Waterhouse Says She Would Help Her Daughter Enter Hollywood

Suki Waterhouse is not pretending that family connections disappear at the front door of Hollywood. The singer and actor said she would be willing to help the daughter she shares with Robert Pattinson if the child eventually decides to pursue acting or music.

A candid answer about access

Waterhouse made the comment during a recent Nylon interview, when she was asked whether she would encourage her daughter to enter the entertainment business. Her joking answer—that she would enthusiastically use her position to help—quickly became the headline, but the broader point was straightforward: she does not see the arts as a path her child should automatically avoid.

The couple’s daughter is two years old, and her name has not been made public. That makes Waterhouse’s answer a distant hypothetical rather than a career announcement. Still, the remark lands in an industry where the advantages enjoyed by children of famous performers remain a constant subject of debate.

Motherhood has changed her choices

Waterhouse also described a practical shift in her own working life since becoming a parent in 2024. She said she now turns down more opportunities and weighs travel or late studio sessions against the time she wants to spend at home. Before motherhood, she suggested, a sudden invitation to work in another city would have been much easier to accept.

Her perspective comes from experience on both sides of the entertainment industry. Waterhouse has built parallel careers as a recording artist and actor, including a role in Daisy Jones & The Six, while Pattinson’s film work stretches from Twilight to The Batman and Mickey 17. Waterhouse has also recently released her third studio album, Loveland.

The playful phrasing may attract attention, but Waterhouse’s underlying position is less sensational: if her daughter develops a genuine interest in performing, she would rather offer guidance than close the door.
