Starz renews network president Alison Hoffman through 2029 as the company develops its independent streaming strategy after Lionsgate.
Starz is keeping Alison Hoffman at the top of its network operation through the end of 2029, giving the entertainment company leadership continuity as it navigates life as a stand-alone public business.
The company disclosed the renewed employment agreement in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The contract took effect August 6 and runs through December 31, 2029. Hoffman will continue to report to Starz CEO Jeff Hirsch.
The terms behind the extension
Under the agreement, Hoffman will receive an annual base salary of $1.485 million and remain eligible for bonus and equity awards. TheWrap and Deadline both reported the renewal after the filing became public Tuesday.
Hoffman joined Starz in 2012 after working at AMC during the era of Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. She later became Starz’s chief marketing officer and was promoted to lead its domestic networks business in 2020. Her current portfolio covers the company’s programming and network strategy.
Starz is building its post-Lionsgate chapter
The extension arrives after Starz completed its separation from Lionsgate in 2025. That move left the former premium-cable brand operating as an independent, publicly traded company at a time when streaming businesses are under pressure to control costs, retain subscribers and keep valuable franchises visible.
Starz’s current lineup includes the Power universe, Outlander: Blood of My Blood and Fightland. The company is also preparing the third and final season of P-Valley. A separate agreement has placed the first four Power series on Netflix, widening the franchise’s potential audience beyond Starz’s own service.
Hoffman has described that Netflix arrangement as an opportunity to introduce the franchise to new viewers. Her contract renewal indicates that Starz wants the same executive overseeing its network strategy while those partnerships develop. With Hirsch’s own agreement running through 2028, the company now has its two most visible operating leaders secured across much of its next growth phase.
