Mean Girls actor Daniel Franzese says he lost 135 pounds over three years through sustained changes to exercise, food and alcohol.
Daniel Franzese has shared a personal update about a three-year health and fitness journey, saying he has lost 135 pounds. The actor, best known for playing Damian in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls, posted before-and-after photos and outlined the routine he says helped him make the change.
Franzese wrote that he stopped drinking alcohol, cut out sugar, began working out at least four times a week and now tracks macronutrients. His post presented the result as a long-term effort rather than a sudden transformation, with the actor placing the two images side by side to show the change over time.
Franzese framed the update around consistency
The 48-year-old did not promote a product or a shortcut in the post. Instead, his brief explanation focused on habits he has maintained across three years. The details remain his personal account, and he did not present the routine as universal medical guidance.
The update follows a health scare during a comedy performance in August. Franzese later said he became lightheaded and experienced flashing vision after going onstage with very little sleep and without food or water. He left the stage and said he felt fine within minutes after stepping backstage and cooling down.
At the time, the actor used humor to describe the incident but also offered a practical reminder to sleep, eat and hydrate. That episode and his new progress post together show a public conversation centered less on appearance alone and more on the routines needed to sustain a demanding work schedule.
His best-known role still connects with audiences
Franzese remains closely associated with Damian, one of the most quoted characters from Mean Girls. He reunited with Lindsay Lohan and other cast members for a 2023 commercial that recreated moments from the film. His television credits also include HBO’s Looking, where he played Eddie.
In earlier comments about Damian’s future, Franzese imagined the character continuing in a performance-related career or becoming a drama teacher. His latest post is not tied to a new film or television announcement, but the response reflects the enduring audience that has followed him since Mean Girls.
For Franzese, the update marks a measurable milestone in a process he says took years. The numbers drew attention, but his own explanation emphasized repeated choices and a more deliberate approach to daily health.
