Marvel’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will conclude with Season 3 in 2027 as the Disney+ series enters post-production after filming wrapped.

Marvel’s street-level saga is heading toward a planned finish. Daredevil: Born Again will end with its upcoming third season on Disney+, with production already complete and the final episodes expected to arrive in 2027.

A final chapter for Matt Murdock

Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdock, the blind New York lawyer who operates as the vigilante Daredevil. The revival brought Cox back after the original Daredevil ran for three seasons on Netflix from 2015 to 2018, then relaunched the character on Disney+ in 2025.

The ending gives the revived series three seasons of its own, rather than an abrupt stop after its current run. The third season wrapped filming several months ago and is now in post-production. No exact premiere date has been announced beyond the 2027 window.

A creative change behind the scenes

The conclusion will also come with a leadership change. Co-creator and showrunner Dario Scardapane has left after his Marvel contract was not renewed. His departure occurred during post-production, and it remains unclear who will oversee the remaining work through completion.

The Disney+ revival rebuilt much of the ensemble around Cox. Vincent D’Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll reprised Karen Page, and Wilson Bethel came back as Bullseye. Season 2 expanded the connection to Marvel’s earlier Netflix shows by bringing Krysten Ritter back as Jessica Jones, while Mike Colter appeared as Luke Cage.

Why the ending matters

Born Again has functioned as a bridge between two eras of Marvel television, carrying performers and story history from Netflix into the company’s Disney+ slate. A defined ending gives the creative team a chance to close Matt Murdock’s latest arc while also deciding how much of that connected corner of the Marvel universe should remain open.

For viewers, the main unanswered questions now concern the shape of the finale: which returning characters will factor into the last run, how Scardapane’s exit will affect post-production, and whether Cox’s Daredevil could still appear elsewhere after the series ends.
