Global Citizen and All Things Go canceled their New York festivals as forecasts warned of dangerous wind and rain across the city this weekend.

Two of New York City’s biggest outdoor music events will not go ahead this weekend. Global Citizen Festival and All Things Go NYC were canceled Friday after updated forecasts warned of severe weather, including strong winds and heavy rain across the metropolitan area.

Global Citizen had been scheduled for Saturday on Central Park’s Great Lawn. Organizers said they made the decision after consulting New York City and NYC Parks, concluding that conditions would not allow them to bring tens of thousands of attendees, artists, workers and large amounts of equipment onto the site safely.

Major lineups affected across the city

The Central Park event was set to feature Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, Shaboozey, Lainey Wilson and Tomorrow X Together, with Hugh Jackman serving as host. Organizers said it was the first cancellation in the festival’s 14-year history and confirmed plans to return to Central Park next year.

All Things Go NYC, meanwhile, had been planned as a three-day event at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. Its announced lineup included MUNA, Zara Larsson, Hayley Williams, Mitski, Lola Young and other artists. The festival cited severe weather throughout the weekend, including high winds, and said fan, artist and crew safety had to take priority.

Refunds and community impact

Both events said ticket refunds would be processed automatically. Global Citizen, where admission can also be earned through advocacy actions, said people who made donations to secure tickets would receive instructions explaining their options.

The cancellation changes a major weekend on the city’s live-music calendar, but some festival preparations will still have a local benefit. Global Citizen said food intended for the event will be donated to organizations serving New Yorkers. The group also emphasized that the advocacy commitments connected to this year’s campaign remain in place even without the Central Park concert.

The decisions came as the expected path of the nor’easter shifted closer to New York, increasing concern about rain, stronger winds and coastal flooding. Other regional concerts were also disrupted, showing how broadly the storm forecast affected outdoor entertainment plans.
