KATSEYE’s members praised Sophia Laforteza for prioritizing her health and said they are excited for her planned January 2027 return.
KATSEYE’s members are looking ahead to Sophia Laforteza’s planned return to group activities in January 2027. Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung shared their support while attending the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 18, where the group was also booked to perform.
Speaking to E! News, Raj said the members were proud of Laforteza for taking time to focus on her health and eager to welcome her back. Variety separately reported the comments and noted that HYBE x Geffen had confirmed Laforteza’s January timetable earlier in October.
The group keeps its focus on Sophia’s health
Laforteza announced in August that she would step away temporarily from promotional activities to prioritize her mental health and wellness. Her bandmates’ latest remarks kept the emphasis on support rather than speculation, describing her as their sister and praising her decision to take the space she needed.
The update gives fans a clearer window for her return without suggesting that she will rejoin the schedule sooner. Neither report detailed a specific January performance, release or city for her first activity back, so the confirmed development remains the month-long return window rather than a precise date.
KATSEYE’s tour continues in the meantime
The group began its “Wildworld” tour in Dublin on Sept. 1 and opened the North American portion in Miami on Oct. 13. The itinerary continues through November, with stops reported in cities including Boston, Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
Laforteza’s planned January return would therefore come after the currently announced 2026 tour schedule described by Variety. That timing gives the singer room to remain off the road while the other members complete the run, and it offers fans a realistic marker without turning her recovery into a countdown.
KATSEYE emerged from the 2023 competition series The Debut: Dream Academy and released its first music in 2024. The group’s rapid international growth has made changes to its lineup closely watched, but the members’ message in Los Angeles was deliberately simple: Laforteza remains part of the group, her health comes first and her return is expected when the new year begins.
Until HYBE x Geffen announces a specific comeback activity, January 2027 is best understood as the start of a planned return period. The group’s supportive comments offer reassurance while leaving the details of Laforteza’s first appearance back to be confirmed.
