Macklemore has announced a three-city Free Palestine benefit tour in Europe, with U.S. dates and guest artists expected to follow.
Macklemore is turning a newly open stretch in his schedule into a benefit concert run. The rapper has announced a “Free Palestine” tour beginning in October, with initial arena dates in Dublin, Paris and London and additional cities expected later.
The first show is set for Dublin’s 3Arena on October 26, followed by Paris’ Accor Arena on October 29 and London’s OVO Arena Wembley on October 30. Macklemore said artist announcements and further dates, including planned U.S. stops, are still being organized.
The concerts are built around fundraising
According to the announcement, proceeds will support a group of organizations providing humanitarian aid or advocacy related to Palestinians. The list includes Anera, Gaza Soup Kitchen, HEAL Palestine, Medical Aid for Palestinians, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and UNRWA USA, among several others.
Macklemore also said friends and fellow performers would join the shows, though the supporting lineup has not been revealed. Presale access is scheduled to begin Monday at 10 a.m. local time, with the general on-sale following Wednesday at the same local hour.
A rapid response after a touring dispute
The announcement follows Macklemore’s removal from Ed Sheeran’s tour lineup after the Seattle artist made pro-Palestinian comments onstage. Sheeran’s other opening acts and backing band subsequently withdrew from the tour, placing the dispute at the center of a wider conversation about artists, politics and live performance.
In announcing his own concerts, Macklemore framed the new run as both a response to that episode and an effort to use his platform for fundraising. He said the schedule had come together quickly, which explains why some artists, venues and U.S. dates remain pending.
The three confirmed European arena dates give the tour a concrete starting point, while the still-unannounced lineup leaves its final scale open. More cities are expected in the coming weeks, but the current announcement does not yet provide a complete itinerary.
