Paul Bettany voices a VisionQuest campaign around Barcelona vs. Real Madrid as El Clásico airs on ABC for the first time.

Marvel’s Vision is crossing into live sports as ESPN brings a VisionQuest-themed campaign to Sunday’s El Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The promotion accompanies the rivalry’s first meeting to air on ABC.

Paul Bettany voices the crossover

The collaboration includes a 30-second spot voiced by Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ESPN and Marvel Studios have also prepared social videos, a motion poster and match-related content featuring the actor. The campaign connects the soccer broadcast with the upcoming Marvel Television series VisionQuest.

ESPN says the integration will appear during pregame coverage from Barcelona and across its social platforms. A special VisionQuest commercial is scheduled for halftime. The network has also distributed a soccer-focused question-and-answer segment with Bettany through ESPN FC channels.

ABC gets its first Barcelona–Madrid league clash

The 265th edition of El Clásico is set for Sunday, October 25, at 4 p.m. ET from Spotify Camp Nou. ABC’s one-hour pregame show begins at 3 p.m. The match will also stream on ESPN+ in English, air on ESPN Deportes in Spanish and be available through the ESPN app for eligible subscribers.

Ian Darke and Steve McManaman will lead the English-language call. Fernando Palomo and Eduardo Biscayart head the Spanish-language broadcast, with reporters Martin Ainstein and Moises Llorens on site. ESPN is originating three days of surrounding programming from Barcelona.

The crossover reflects a broader Disney strategy: use a major live event to introduce entertainment programming to an audience beyond the usual trailer circuit. Here, the pitch is especially direct. Vision’s next television chapter gets a showcase during one of club soccer’s biggest fixtures, while ESPN adds a pop-culture layer to ABC’s broadcast debut.

For viewers, the central event remains Barcelona against Real Madrid. The Marvel material is designed as a supporting feature around the match rather than an alternate telecast, appearing in pregame, social and halftime slots.
