Miranda Hart’s tearful goodbye to Joe Lycett and joyful dance with Leigh-Anne Pinnock shaped episode six of The Celebrity Traitors.

Spoiler warning: This article discusses episode six of The Celebrity Traitors Season 2.

Miranda Hart delivered the emotional center of Friday’s episode of The Celebrity Traitors, moving from a tearful farewell to an exuberant dance lesson while the game closed on an unusually sleepy cliffhanger.

The comedian was one of the few players who refused to vote for Joe Lycett at the round table. When Lycett revealed that he had remained a Faithful, Hart celebrated having trusted their friendship, then became emotional as he left the castle.

Friendship carried more weight than the game

Hart connected the moment to periods of isolation she experienced during a long illness. She previously disclosed that Lyme disease and chronic fatigue had left her housebound and, at times, bedbound. During the episode’s physical mission, she reflected on how remarkable it felt to be pushing a wheelbarrow through the Scottish Highlands after once fearing she might not manage a gentle walk again.

The mood lifted when Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock offered to teach Hart a dance move. Their playful routine became a burst of uncomplicated joy after the tension of Lycett’s banishment and showed why Hart’s warmth has become such a prominent part of the season.

A very slow murder in plain sight

Elsewhere, newly recruited Traitor King Kenny joined Maya Jama and James Acaster in the turret. Their mission was to spread a fictional sleeping powder and prompt a Faithful to yawn, turning boredom into the mechanism for a murder in plain sight.

The plan narrowed its potential victims to Jerry Hall and Ross Kemp, but the episode ended before revealing whether either contestant had copied the Traitors’ theatrical yawns. Viewers will have to wait for the next episode to learn who, if anyone, was eliminated by the scheme.

The installment balanced strategy with unusually personal television. Hart’s reaction to Lycett, her candid reflection on recovery and her dance with Pinnock gave the episode its emotional range, even as the central cliffhanger asked the cast to do something reality television usually avoids: become deliberately boring.
