Netflix’s Heartland soundtrack arrives November 13 with Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Nettles, Carter Faith, Carly Pearce and Margo Price.

Netflix’s upcoming thriller Heartland is turning its Nashville setting into a full musical world. The film’s official soundtrack will arrive through Netflix Music on November 13, the same day the movie begins streaming, with performances from cast members and established country artists.

The cast carries the soundtrack

Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Nettles lead the newly released title song, which was originally written and recorded by Hailey Whitters. The album also gives Chastain a solo performance, while Nettles takes the spotlight on “You’re Gonna Burn for That.” Carter Faith, making her first on-screen acting appearance in the film, performs “Still the Sparrow Sings.”

The lineup reaches beyond the principal cast. Carly Pearce contributes “Ready & Waiting,” Channing Wilson performs “Tall Tall Trees,” and Margo Price joins actor John Hawkes for “Too Late for Coffee, Too Early for Beer.” Ross Lynch, Jace Jacobs, Charlie Heart, Eddy Dunlap and David Ferguson also appear across the track list.

Music is part of the mystery

Directed by Shana Feste, Heartland centers on Misty Jones, a former country star played by Chastain. She returns to Nashville after her niece, an emerging musician played by Faith, disappears. Nettles also appears in the film, making the soundtrack more than a separate promotional companion: several of its key voices belong to characters inside the story.

That approach allows the music to carry information about the movie’s world before audiences see the full thriller. Songs about family, waiting, heartbreak and secrets mirror a plot built around a missing relative and a retired performer confronting the city and career she left behind.

For Nettles, the project draws on both sides of her career, pairing her recording experience with a dramatic role. For Faith, it creates an unusually direct screen debut, letting viewers meet her as a performer and actor at the same time. With the title track already available, Netflix has begun introducing Heartland through its sound as much as through its mystery.
