Netflix orders Manifest spinoff Arrivals

The Manifest universe is returning to Netflix with Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery, a spinoff built around a fresh plane mystery and a new group of characters. The project brings back key members of the creative team behind the original supernatural drama.

A new crash opens a different mystery

According to announcements reported by E! News and TVLine, the story begins when a plane crash-lands in Denver. Its passengers emerge without memories of who they are, where they came from or why they have arrived. A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent then join forces with them as a threat to humanity takes shape.

The setup echoes the original show’s fascination with aviation, identity and unexplained events without simply repeating the Flight 828 premise. Manifest followed passengers who returned after disappearing for more than five years, while Arrivals starts with strangers who cannot explain their own identities.

Creator Jeff Rake is returning alongside Margaret Easley and Laura Putney. The three are set to serve as co-creators, co-showrunners, writers and executive producers, giving the new series a direct creative bridge to its predecessor.

Built for returning fans and newcomers

Netflix’s order also extends a franchise with an unusual survival story. NBC canceled Manifest after three seasons in 2021, but a strong streaming audience helped the show secure a fourth and final season at Netflix. That concluding run arrived in two parts across 2022 and 2023.

The new project is being positioned as accessible to viewers who never boarded the original series. At the same time, Rake has suggested that the team wants longtime fans to find rewards in the larger mythology. Whether Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas or other original cast members will appear has not been confirmed.

No premiere date or new cast list was included in the reports reviewed. For now, the clearest promise is a new mystery with the same combination of high-concept suspense and human stakes that carried Manifest through cancellation and revival.
