Noisia is reuniting after seven years, with the influential electronic trio’s first return show set for December 4 in Amsterdam.

Noisia is officially reuniting seven years after announcing the end of the influential electronic group. Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger will return to the stage together on December 4 at Amsterdam’s Melkweg, the venue confirmed in its newly posted event listing.

The trio returns on new terms

The members spent their time apart developing individual projects, but a reunion announcement says they missed the creative exchange that defined Noisia. The group is returning on what it describes as new terms, signaling a fresh phase rather than a simple extension of its farewell era.

Noisia formed in Groningen around the turn of the millennium and became a defining force in modern drum and bass. Its dense sound design also traveled into experimental electronic music, hip-hop production, film composition and audiovisual projects. That technical reach made the trio influential well beyond one club scene.

A first show back in Amsterdam

The December concert is scheduled for Melkweg’s MAX room at 11:59 p.m. and is restricted to audiences 18 and older. Tickets are due to go on sale September 25 at 10 a.m., with early tickets listed at €28.75 and regular admission at €34.50. The venue describes the date as Noisia’s first performance together since the farewell tour concluded.

The final run originally stretched beyond the group’s planned ending after the pandemic disrupted touring. Billboard noted that the farewell dates ultimately continued into 2022, making the coming Amsterdam appearance both a reunion and a return to a city central to Noisia’s live history.

During the hiatus, Roos continued work under Sleepnet and across projects including Ring Noord and Body Ocean. De Vlieger released and collaborated as Thys, while van Sonderen pursued his own production work. Their separate output kept each member active even as the Noisia name remained dormant.

The trio also prepared audiences for the announcement with Vlucht, a 27-minute documentary released on September 10. More live dates are expected to be announced later, but the Melkweg show is the only confirmed return performance detailed so far. For fans, the immediate news is simple: Noisia is no longer a closed chapter.
