Regan Hutsell Is Crowned Miss America 2027

Regan Hutsell, representing Texas, has been crowned Miss America 2027 after the national competition concluded in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 6. The 25-year-old professional dancer succeeds Cassie Donegan and becomes the 99th woman to hold the title.

The final brought together delegates from all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Shelby Bordelon of Louisiana finished as first runner-up, while Kate Dimmett of Illinois placed second runner-up.

A career built on dance

Hutsell enters the role with a substantial performing background. She has worked as a Radio City Rockette and danced with international ballet companies, including Birmingham Royal Ballet. That experience gave her a distinctive profile in a competition that assesses communication, talent, service and public presence rather than a single onstage moment.

Her choice to compete with her naturally curly hair also became part of the story surrounding her win. Hutsell’s victory also makes her eligible for education funding connected to the title. The top three finalists are eligible for full-tuition graduate scholarships at Hood College for qualifying programs, adding a concrete academic benefit to the national platform.
