Slow Horses adds Varada Sethu, Tuppence Middleton and three more actors to its Season 7 cast for a new government mole mystery.

Slow Horses is expanding Slough House’s orbit for Season 7. Varada Sethu, Tuppence Middleton, Ethan Moorhouse, Merab Ninidze and Joshua McGuire have joined the cast of Apple TV’s acclaimed British spy drama.

The five additions arrive alongside Gary Oldman, who returns as the abrasive but highly capable Jackson Lamb. James Callis is also set to reprise his role as Claude Whelan, adding continuity to a season that will place a fresh group of characters around the show’s established MI5 misfits.

A new mystery inside the British government

Season 7 is adapted from Bad Actors, a novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House series. The story sends Lamb and his team after a mole embedded at the center of the British government, with the threat extending beyond the department’s usual internal rivalries.

Sethu comes to the series after roles in Andor and The Other Bennet Sister. Middleton’s credits include Downton Abbey: A New Era, The Forsytes and Mank, where she previously appeared opposite Oldman. Moorhouse has appeared in MobLand, Ninidze in Homeland, and BAFTA nominee McGuire in The Gold.

The creative team stays connected to the books

Ben Vanstone is adapting Bad Actors for television and serves as an executive producer. Robert McKillop is directing, while See-Saw Films continues to produce the series for Apple TV. Herron is among the executive producers, along with Oldman and several longtime members of the production team.

The incoming actors join a deep ensemble that includes Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung and Aimee-Ffion Edwards. That continuity has helped the show balance espionage plots with the workplace friction that defines Slough House.

The casting announcement does not reveal how the five newcomers fit into the mole hunt. It does, however, confirm that Season 7 will widen the drama’s political world while keeping Jackson Lamb and his damaged team at its center.
