Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro pairs the M6 chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and up to 24 hours of claimed battery life per charge.
Apple has introduced a new 14-inch MacBook Pro built around its M6 processor, refreshing the company’s professional laptop with faster graphics, stronger on-device AI performance and updated wireless connectivity. The model opens for preorder on October 28 and reaches customers on November 6.
M6 puts AI and graphics at the center
The M6 combines a 12-core CPU with a 12-core GPU, Neural Accelerators in every GPU core and a dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says that configuration delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics and up to 25 percent faster AI workloads than the M5 model. Those figures are manufacturer benchmarks rather than independent test results, but they show where Apple is placing the biggest emphasis this generation.
The company also claims up to 24 hours of battery life, the longest rating it has given a Mac. Standard unified memory remains 16GB, while buyers can configure 24GB or 32GB. Memory bandwidth rises to 170GB per second, and storage starts at 1TB with options reaching 4TB.
Connectivity catches up
Beyond the chip, the most notable changes are support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The port selection remains familiar: three Thunderbolt 4 connections, HDMI, MagSafe 3, an SDXC card slot and a headphone jack. Fast charging can restore up to half the battery in 30 minutes when the laptop is paired with a compatible high-wattage USB-C adapter.
The 14-inch design still includes a Liquid Retina XDR display, an optional nano-texture finish, a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera and a six-speaker audio system. Buyers can choose space black or silver. The starting price is $1,999 in the United States.
A targeted update, not a full lineup reset
This release is focused on the base 14-inch MacBook Pro. The larger 16-inch version remains tied to M5 Pro and M5 Max configurations for now, so shoppers seeking the newest chip have only one screen size in this initial launch.
The laptop ships with macOS 27 and Apple is pitching local AI work as a central use case, from image generation and upscaling to running large language models on the device. Independent reviews will determine how the performance and battery claims translate into daily work, but the M6 model clearly moves the MacBook Pro further toward AI-heavy creative and professional workflows.
