JISOO co-wrote “Sun Showers” for The Angry Birds Movie 3, pairing a personal character from her childhood with a holiday film release.
JISOO is bringing a new original song to the big screen. The BLACKPINK member co-wrote “Sun Showers” for The Angry Birds Movie 3, extending her recent solo run into a major animated-film soundtrack.
A song built for the movie’s bright energy
The track is expected to appear in the film and in an upcoming trailer. JISOO described the assignment as a chance to match the franchise’s mix of colorful characters, comedy and heart with a playful, feel-good song. She said she hopes it leaves audiences smiling and ready to dance when they hear it over the holidays.
The release also carries a personal detail. Artwork for “Sun Showers” includes Shumon, a small dustball character JISOO first drew while she was in middle school, years before her debut as a K-pop star. That connection gives the project a more intimate stamp than a standard soundtrack placement.
A large ensemble returns for the third film
Paramount Pictures has scheduled The Angry Birds Movie 3 for Dec. 23. John Rice directs from a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman, with a story that places parenthood alongside the franchise’s usual world-saving chaos.
Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom and Danny McBride are among the returning voices. The expanded cast also includes Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Keke Palmer and Lily James.
“Sun Showers” arrives during a busy solo stretch for JISOO. After building her global profile with BLACKPINK, she has continued to develop music under her own name, including the recent singles “Click” and “Addicted.” A family-film song now gives her another route to listeners beyond the usual K-pop release cycle.
The collaboration also joins two highly recognizable entertainment brands. For the film, JISOO’s involvement adds international pop appeal; for the singer, the soundtrack offers a holiday-season showcase tied to a franchise with an established global audience.
