Blue Planet III will tour U.K. arenas in 2027 with Hans Zimmer’s score performed live beside specially selected ocean footage.
Blue Planet III is moving from television screens to arenas in 2027, with a live concert tour pairing footage from the new BBC nature series with its orchestral score.
The first announced U.K. dates are May 21 at Manchester’s AO Arena, May 22 at bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham and May 23 at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro. A London performance is also planned, although its date and venue have not yet been confirmed.
Hans Zimmer’s score will be performed live
The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra will perform music written for the series by Hans Zimmer, Thom Lukas and Laurentia Editha through Bleeding Fingers Music. Specially selected footage will play on an Ultra HD LED screen described as being roughly the size of a tennis court, turning the production into a large-scale audiovisual show rather than a standard film-score concert.
Executive producer Elizabeth White is set to host the performances and discuss the stories and filmmaking behind the series. The official tour materials position that presentation as a bridge between the natural-history work on screen and the musicians recreating its emotional sweep inside each arena.
NME reports that tickets for the three confirmed shows are due to go on sale Friday, October 16. Fans waiting for the London stop can register for updates through the tour’s official site.
A new chapter for the ocean landmark
The six-part Blue Planet III is narrated by David Attenborough and is scheduled to premiere later this year. BBC Earth says the new series returns to the oceans 25 years after the original Blue Planet, with an original score from Zimmer and Bleeding Fingers Music.
The concert announcement extends that launch into 2027, when the production is expected to travel across the U.K. and Europe. For audiences, the format offers a different way to experience the franchise: the underwater images remain central, but the score becomes a live performance with the physical scale and immediacy of an arena event.
The announced dates also place the composers and orchestra alongside the natural-history filmmakers as visible parts of the project. Additional European cities and the full London details remain to be revealed.
