Nobody Wants This creator Erin Foster is ready to continue the Netflix romantic comedy, although the streamer has not announced a fourth-season renewal. With Season 3 now available, Foster says the series still has room to explore what happens after its central couple reaches a major new stage in their relationship.

The show follows agnostic podcaster Joanne, played by Kristen Bell, and rabbi Noah, played by Adam Brody, as their romance brings two very different families into the same orbit. Foster has described the premise as loosely inspired by her own relationship with music executive Simon Tikhman.

The writers are waiting for Netflix’s call

Foster said the team would be prepared to assemble a writers’ room if Netflix orders another season. At the same time, she is approaching the decision cautiously, noting that she would rather end while viewers still want more than extend the series past its natural life.

That balance matters because Season 3 pushes Joanne and Noah beyond the early uncertainty that defined their romance. Foster sees further material in the practical and emotional adjustments that come with building a shared life later than some of their peers. Her comments outline a creative direction, not confirmation that production has begun.

One unresolved character could widen the story

Season 3 spoilers follow. The latest finale leaves several family relationships unsettled even after Joanne and Noah marry. Foster has specifically pointed to Morgan’s former husband, a figure discussed but not yet seen, as someone the series could introduce if Season 4 moves forward.

That possibility could complicate Morgan’s evolving connection with Sasha and give the ensemble a new source of tension beyond the newlyweds. It would also let the series continue its pattern of using relatives to test how romance, faith and loyalty collide in everyday decisions.

For now, the only firm update is that Foster and her team are interested and prepared. Netflix has not supplied a production timetable, episode count or release window for a potential fourth season, so any return remains contingent on an official renewal.
