Aerosmith will play two Hollywood Bowl comeback shows with Run-DMC, Heart, Slash and more after ending its farewell tour plans in 2024.

Aerosmith will return to the stage for two full concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, marking the band’s biggest live commitment since ending its farewell tour plans in 2024. The Los Angeles shows, billed as California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends, are scheduled for October 29 and November 1.

A two-night return with an all-star roster

The guest list stretches across several generations of rock and beyond. Run-DMC, Heart, the Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Slash, Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello, Eric Church, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan and Jerry Cantrell are among the announced performers. Different guests are expected to appear each night, with Don Was serving as musical director.

The concerts are also expected to feature Aerosmith’s classic lineup, including drummer Joey Kramer. Kramer has not performed a full show with the band since 2020, making his return another significant part of the announcement.

The comeback follows an interrupted farewell

Aerosmith’s touring future became uncertain after Steven Tyler suffered a vocal injury in 2023, only a few dates into the group’s Peace Out farewell run. The postponed tour was later canceled, and the band said in 2024 that it was retiring from touring because a full recovery from the injury was not possible.

Tyler has made select appearances since then, including benefits and special-event performances, but the Hollywood Bowl dates are positioned as complete Aerosmith concerts rather than brief guest spots. That distinction makes the two-night stand a carefully limited return, not an announced revival of the canceled tour.

The band is pairing that return with collaborators closely connected to its history and influence. Run-DMC helped reshape Aerosmith’s commercial story with the 1986 remake of “Walk This Way,” while guitarists including Slash, Morello and Cantrell represent later waves of hard rock shaped by the group.

A Citi presale begins October 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific time, followed by the general sale on October 10 at the same hour. For now, the Hollywood Bowl dates are the only full Aerosmith shows announced.
