Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are preparing to welcome their seventh child. The former 19 Kids and Counting star shared the pregnancy news during a joint appearance with her husband on the Unplanned Podcast.

A surprise for the podcast hosts

Duggar said she was six weeks pregnant when the episode was recorded. The announcement surprised hosts Matt and Abby Howard, who were told that only the couple’s relatives had heard the news before the conversation. Duggar added that she had experienced some queasiness but was otherwise feeling well.

The couple said this pregnancy was planned. Duggar explained that she had raised the possibility of another baby, while Seewald agreed they were ready to expand their family again. They did not set a final number of children and instead described their approach as making the decision one pregnancy at a time.

The discussion also moved beyond the announcement itself. Seewald spoke about the practical pressures of raising a large family, including finances and the challenge of giving each child individual attention. Duggar said those concerns had encouraged them to be more deliberate about work hours, weekends and time together at home.

Their growing family

Duggar, 33, and Seewald, 31, married in 2014. They are already parents to sons Spurgeon, Henry, George and Edward, along with daughters Ivy and Fern. Their oldest child is 10, while their youngest is 1.

The new pregnancy comes a little more than a year after the arrival of their sixth child. During the interview, the couple also acknowledged two previous pregnancy losses, placing the happy announcement within a longer and more complicated family journey.

Duggar became widely known through the TLC series that followed her parents and siblings. Her latest update came directly through a long-form conversation rather than a brief social post, giving the couple room to discuss both their excitement and the responsibilities that come with adding another child.

No due date or further pregnancy details were announced. For now, Duggar and Seewald are treating the news as a family milestone while continuing to plan around the daily demands of a household that will soon include seven children.
