Stevie Wonder Sets an 18-Date Anniversary Tour

Stevie Wonder is taking Songs in the Key of Life on the road for a new 18-date tour celebrating the landmark album’s 50th anniversary. The singer plans to perform the 1976 double album in full across a fall itinerary that begins in Europe and finishes in the United States.

The run opens October 13 at Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England. European stops follow in Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Hannover, Cologne, Amsterdam and Dublin before three more British dates in London, Manchester and Glasgow.

Stevie Wonder’s anniversary tour crosses two continents

The U.S. leg begins November 19 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Wonder will then visit Chicago and Washington, D.C., play two hometown shows at Detroit’s Fox Theatre, and close the tour December 19 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Ticket sales are staggered by region. A presale for the U.K. and European concerts begins September 9, followed by a general sale on September 11 at 10 a.m. local time. Most U.S. dates go on general sale September 10 at 10 a.m. local time, while the Detroit concerts have a separate September 15 on-sale date.

A full-album celebration of a defining record

Released September 28, 1976, Songs in the Key of Life became one of Wonder’s defining works. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and later won Album of the Year at the 1977 Grammy Awards. Its track list includes “Sir Duke,” “I Wish,” “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Love’s in Need of Love Today” and “Pastime Paradise.”

The anniversary format gives the audience more than a standard greatest-hits set. Performing the complete album preserves its original sequence and brings deep cuts to the stage alongside the best-known singles. It also lets Wonder revisit a record whose themes of love, inequality, faith and community remain central to his catalog.

The tour is promoted by Live Nation and produced by Wonder Productions. With concerts spread across 15 cities and two continents, the itinerary turns the album’s half-century milestone into an international celebration rather than a one-night tribute.
