Tyler Cameron and Jackson Olson left Dancing With the Stars after a tense Horror Movie Night double elimination narrowed Season 35.
Dancing With the Stars cut its Season 35 field by two on Tuesday, sending home Tyler Cameron and Jackson Olson at the end of a horror-themed episode. The double elimination followed a week in which every remaining celebrity had been declared safe, raising the stakes for the Oct. 27 broadcast.
Two very different final dances
Cameron and professional partner Sharna Burgess performed a Viennese waltz inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The routine earned 26 points out of 40, with the judges pointing to weaknesses in his posture and performance. After the result, Cameron said he was disappointed in himself but praised Burgess for guiding him through the competition.
Olson and Emma Slater had a stronger night on the scoreboard. Their contemporary routine, built around the Joker and set to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” received 35 points. It was Olson’s highest score of the season and included his first nines, but it was not enough to keep the pair in the ballroom.
E! News reported that the elimination was based on the lowest combined judges’ scores and audience votes across the previous two weeks. That format meant Olson’s late improvement could not fully erase the pair’s earlier position in the competition.
Horror Movie Night reshapes the race
Guest judge Shirley Ballas joined the regular panel for Horror Movie Night, which drew inspiration from films including Sinners, Saw, The Omen and The Lost Boys. Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson delivered the evening’s first perfect 40, while several other couples remained clustered in the low-to-mid 30s.
The result leaves eight couples in the competition. With the season moving into its final stretch, the episode showed how quickly momentum can shift: a personal-best routine did not save Olson, while Cameron’s lower-scoring waltz left little room for recovery. The remaining contestants now head forward without the protection of the previous week’s all-safe outcome.
