Kim Kardashian recreated North West’s blue-haired style for Halloween, turning her daughter’s fashion into a playful family tribute.
Kim Kardashian turned to someone close to home for her 2026 Halloween inspiration: her eldest daughter, North West. In an Instagram carousel posted Tuesday, the reality star recreated the teenager’s recognizable blue-haired style and presented the look as a playful family tribute.
The costume centered on a long turquoise wig, dramatic lashes and dark eye makeup. Kardashian paired those details with a black graphic shirt layered over black-and-white striped sleeves, chunky silver jewelry and long decorated nails. Facial jewelry and dark grills completed the transformation, while her poses echoed the casual phone videos associated with North’s social-media appearances.
A family look becomes the costume
Kardashian kept her own caption brief, writing only “Halloween 2026” with a zombie emoji. The post itself supplied the reveal, placing the focus on how closely she had studied North’s recent fashion choices. Page Six and Just Jared both identified the styling as a recreation of the 13-year-old’s current look, and the original Instagram post confirmed that Kardashian published the images on October 20.
The choice reverses the usual parent-child costume dynamic. Rather than coordinating as matching characters, Kardashian made North the character. It also arrives after the mother and daughter publicly discussed criticism aimed at the teenager’s fashion. Their earlier conversation framed the dark accessories, grills and piercings as personal expression rather than an invitation for strangers to define her.
Another chapter in their Halloween history
Halloween has previously been a shared project for the pair. In 2023, they dressed as Cher Horowitz and Dionne Davenport from the 1995 comedy Clueless. North has also referenced her father Kanye West’s work through costumes, including the bear mascot associated with his Graduation era.
This year’s version is more personal and knowingly self-referential. Kardashian did not simply borrow a color palette; she assembled the hair, layers, jewelry and manicure into an affectionate imitation of her daughter’s public style. The result turns a familiar celebrity-family resemblance into a Halloween concept built for the social-media age.
